5mo waking very upset in the evening

Hello all. My DS is 5mo and has been sleeping through the night (with a dreamfeed at 10:30pm) for a couple of months. Around 3 weeks ago he caught his first proper cold and cut his first two teeth so we had a lot of understandable night wakings. He is now himself again in the day, but since then has habitually woken at 8:45pm/9pm every night screaming and needing to be settled with a dummy despite not needing the dummy to go to sleep in the first place. He usually then sleeps until his df at 10:30pm and then sleeps through til 6-7am-ish. His bedtime is 7pm.

Does anyone have any ideas what's going on? Do you think he's hungry when he wakes? Or is a hangover habit from his illness? I am pretty sure when he wakes he is not in any pain and wants to go straight back to sleep.

I think he might be going through a growth spurt which is why I wonder about hunger, but because of his troubled sleep from the illness and teething I am confused.

Any help?
