How often does your 5 month old sleep

Just that really!

My 5 month still wakes every 3 hours during the night and up between 5-6am for the day with only 3 sleeps during the day for no more than 30 mins!

Mine is 7 months now, but at 5 months he'd wake up around 8:30, up for 1.5-2 hours then another hour nap, then he'd sleep for around an hour and a half to two hours mid afternoon. He's always been a good sleeper though, luckily for me he has slept through the night since he was nine weeks old

2 hours in daytime, then another shorter nap of about 30 mins.

Nighttime is exactly the same as you I'm afraid, awake every 3 hours give or take. It's ..... tiring.

He's still in our room atm. Considering trying a form of controlled crying ... getting up to him when he cries but offering him only water not breast/bottle. Then putting him down for 5 mins or so, then patting him. He'll know mama or papa is there but just not getting food. I hope that will do it, the health advisor thinks it's jusst habit. If I wasn't so tired, I'd let him carry on but as it is, it's unworkable.

Similar but starting to get better.

3 naps of 30 mins each, sometimes the odd 45 minute one. In bed by 7pm and up for the day between 6 and 7am.

She had been waking every 2 hours from 3 months till the past fortnight or so- now waking 2 or 3 times for a feed with an odd stir in between. So usually at least 4 hours between wakes.

SO MUCH BETTER!

My dd is nearly 6 months and pretty much the same as your child. She went through a phase of waking every 2 hours at 4/5 months! I decided to try the formula dream feed which worked- she will sleep for 5 hrs after that and it was a sort of sleep reset as after a breast feed she now sleeps for 3hrs.

Usually up at 7, an hour nap at 8.30/9 then another 1 1/2-2 in the afternoon. Asleep buy 7.30/8pm and now sleeps thro until 6ish....but only recently! Only a few weeks ago he was still waking habitually at 2.30 and 4! I dropped his night feed quite a while ago. Hes now weaning which i feel has helped alot with helping him to sleep better....it does get easier...thank god as i was almost pulling my hair out!

Up at 7ish then tired again a couple of hours later and boob nap if I'm lucky for 20min or so. Will sleep for an hour or so around midday, either in the buggy if it's moving, or in the sling. If in the sling on my husband then she can sleep for up to 2.5 hours some days. Then tired around 3.45 but usually fights and nap unless in the buggy. Can you tell she's a bad napper?! Feeds to sleep around 6.30 and down by 7ish on a good night; 8ish on a not so good one. Awake twice in the night for feeds but can be awake for hours if I'm unlucky. Hoping she'll settle into more of a routine soon...!

Just started a similar thread and then saw your's!

DS is 5 months this week. He wakes for feeds every 3 hours in the night, then is up for the day at 5/5:30 (although 4:30 last 2 mornings Shock). Tends to need to sleep about 1.5 hrs after waking, which work out at 4 naps - 1 first thing, 1 mid morning, 1 after my lunch (which tends to be longer 1.5-2 hrs if lucky, but have only managed 30 mins this week!) and then 1 around 4:30/5. Bed between 6:30 & 7.

I can't really remember with DD, but around what age do they start doing regular set nap times rather than just working from amount of time since they woke?

It seems most are on 3 naps, but he really seems to need 4 at the moment.
