Pink rant - bedding!

Hi,

I am just starting to plan my nursery as me and hubby know we are having a girl! We have known for a while but it has been so hard trying to find bedding that isn't the stereotypical pink for girls. We want something that is really fun and bright and not the boring beige bears or cheap and nasty looking sets you see everywhere. I don't want my little girl growing up obsessed with everything pink and barbie dolls, we want her to find her own personality and not be drowned in gender stereotypes. We want something that we can dress the whole nursery with so we have a coordinated room so we can ask family to buy pieces to match.

We are really struggling to find something! Please help. Pink rant over.

There's loads out there.

Try john lewis , m and s , argos ...

Dunno about dressing the whole room matching - that really really wouldn't be my thing, so you may hate my taste, but I love this stuff

We have never done whole room matching but we got loads of nursery bits from Ikea. They do loads of bright animal prints.

You could plan for when they are older? When DC was a baby she was just on a plain sheet in a sleeping bag, so there wasn't any co-ordination of bedding needed (no duvet, no cover, no bumper as they're considered dangerous now). She was probably nearer 2 when we moved to using a single duvet and places like Argos have plenty of bright, colourful duvets that will come with matching curtains if you want that.

Have you looked at mamas and papas? We didn't do the full on matching nursery thing but I bought a few things from one of the ranges that was very unisex. They have a few ranges that are bright and colourful like jungle animals etc. Far too expensive but it would tick your boxes I think.

Ikea have some lovely stuff . Dd has a child's duvet and it's woodland themed in green and white . I think you can get matching curtains too so maybe check there for nursery decor ?

Look on Pinterest for ideas. Type in 'nursery decor' as a starting point.
