Is this just a coincidence?

My 3 month old LO woke at 5.30am this morning soaked through so I had to do a full nappy and clothes change. Then he would usually fall back to sleep but I just couldn't get him back off to sleep in his cot. So I took him downstairs and he wriggled and wouldn't settle and then I gave him some teething gel as I have become convinced that although young he's possibly teething. He took it really well, I gave him his dummy which he took nicely and bam back to a lovely gentle sleep. Is this just a coincidence or are his teeth causing him problems that once awake he noticed and therefore can't get back to sleep?

Babies can start teething very early so probably is his teeth. My DD was teething from 4 months but no teeth till 7 months!
