My ds1 11 weeks today goes to bed at about 7.30. He usually sleep until about 1.30/2.00am. I have tried waking him at 22.00 for a feed but he still wakes at 1.30/2.00am so I thought I may as well let him sleep. He goes back to sleep fine after that feed but is awake again at around 4/4.30 and doesn't want to go back to sleep. Then at around 7/7.30 he's tired again. We tried feeding him but he does not want it or maybe takes just 1oz. I know lots of MNetters don't believe in routine at this early an age and I do not intend to be strict but I need to resolve this early waking because I am absolutely useless on what is working out about 5 hours of sleep a night. How can I get him to gradually sleep longer into the morning?

That's fantastic that he sleeps from 7/7:30 till 1:30am - my DS didn't do that till after 6 months! Are you ff or bf? Is he awake from 4/4:30 to 7/7:30?
He might not be taking a long-enough feed at 22.00 b/c he's quite sleepy, and therefore still waking at 1/2am to have another feed. How much does he drink at this time? Maybe try properly waking him up at 22.00 and keeping him up for an hour or so and then putting him back to bed with a good feed.

my ds is 11wks and when he stirs at 2/3 i try to sooth him back to sleep by replacing the dummy and stroking his forhead. this often works and he goes back to sleep till about 5/6. we do wake him at 22.30 for a big feed though. however the past few nights he's been a bit irratic and was feed last night at 3.00. check out thread ' 11 wk old regression'
