dropping catnap

My dd has a short morning nap and longer lunch one. If she sleeps well then, she goes from 12.30 to 2.30. She is then just about able to stay awake till 7pm (her bedtime). If I try to give her a 4.30/5ish catnap, she won't take it. So what I've been doing is waking her a 1.30/2 so she's tired enough to catnap and get comfortably through to bedtime. Should I continue waking her, or let her sleep on and drop the 3rd nap?
Thanks
Dawnx

You don't say how old she is. If I can remember correctly DD dropped her catnap at about 7 months. I just left her to sleep till she woke from her lunch-time nap. She would then be in bed by 6:30. So try and put her to bed a bit earlier. I didn't find that it had any influence on her waking any earlier. Rather put her to bed when she is getting tired than drag her out until later when she is going to be very tired and difficult. She should also settle more easily if she's not too dead tired. Good Luck.
