Am I doing it all wrong?

DD is 8 weeks. She seems to be suffering so much with wind. In the day she will only sleep on me. I don't mind this but hard to manage DS as well and I keep being told by ppl that I must get her used to being put down.

If I put her down she only lasts 5 mins before waking. She will sleep a bit longer in the car seat so I think she's more comfy upright.

At night she sleeps for maybe an hour at a time in her basket. I so tired!

So do I need to put her down more? Will she learn how to stay asleep? I forgotten everything from DS!

try gripe water for the wind and she probably likes being up a bit more because the bubbles caused by the wind are less uncomfortable if you aren't lying flat. put a folded towel under the head end of the mattress of her basket to prop her up a bit. theyre always banging on about babies sleeping flat but my windy one spent the first 4 months of his life sleeping in his bouncy chair.

We're having a bit of this. Would she sleep in a sling during the day? She'd be on you and more upright but you'd have your hands free, I'm hoping to try this now my dh is going back to work. You can also raise the basket at night by putting books under the back legs.

Hi there, you could try a colic massage before putting your DD down to nap - may help expel all the excess wind so she's more comfy. there's a good video on how to the is on my blog if you're interested - mydaughterwontsleep.com/2014/06/13/natural-solutions-for-colic/
good luck!
