2 week old not napping

DD is 2 weeks today. Generally she's been feeding every couple of hours during the day and napping in between but today she hasn't seemed able to stay asleep, she's managed one hour long nap but the rest have been about 10 minutes max, either after a feed, a cuddle or a short car ride. How worried should I be about her lack of sleep? She seems exhausted!

DS3 went through this, his awakathon lasted about 48 hours. 10 minute naps might be fine for him, but they weren't for me! eventually he wore himself out and slept again.

i think if they are still feeding, weeing, pooing etc just try to ride it out. can you ask anybody to help while you get a nap?

She actually slept well last night, 3-4 hours at a time, so I'm ok, just wondering if it's normal at this stage? Good to know someone else has experienced it Smile

i have no idea what caused it, but your post reminded me that around that time he also did this. it was hell! i hope she snaps out of it soon!

My 5 week old hardly sleeps in the day. She is awake and so alert. She naps for a little while after feeds but any movement wakes her and she takes ages to settle...which leads to more feeding/nappy etc I literally spend my day on the sofa feeding or cuddling.
Can't complain though. ..apart from about daytime TV!

Bootsalex does she sleep at night? We'd been ok at night but last night she decided sleep was for wimps, exhausted today! I also have a 3 yo so relaxing hard and DH back to work today :(

This is my first so only have her to focus on!
Nighttime varies. Sometimes she will sleep for 6 hours which is great but other times she is awake every 2/3 hours. She takes a long time to settle also in evening as she gets really fussy about feeding won't latch on etc and maybe be a bit colicky so I'm usually up until midnight at least settling her.
People tell me 6 weeks and things settle down?
health visitor didn't seem concerned About no day sleeps, said she's got things the right way around! A car journey does send her to sleep for a good amount of time, maybe she doesn't like the Moses basket in day.
Don't know if anything I've said helps but each baby is different and I wouldn't worry xxx

6 hours at that age is amazing!
