Night weaning a 5 month old?

My 5 month old DS likes to sleep with me and feed on and off pretty constantly, on a good night from 3am and a bad night from about 1am!

He feeds well and frequently in the day, including some solids, and has a 7oz bottle of formula at about 11pm. He's a big baby and gaining weight well so I don't believe he needs the calories between 11pm-7am.

Any suggestions on how to go about stopping these feeds? DP is on board with whatever approach we choose.

Watching with interest - would like to cut out the 3/4am feed here too for my 5 month old.
