Sleepyhead Grand or cot bumper?

DD2 has just moved into the big cot from her bedside crib. She has been in a sleepyhead since about 5 weeks and prior to that refused to sleep anywhere but on my chest. The sleepyhead is good but it sadly isn't quite the miracle worker some people find - DD2 is still usually up between 2 and 4 times between 11 and 7. She does seem to like cuddling it though - she is a tummy sleeper and usually has her head on the side and one arm over it. For now I've put it in the big cot, but she has worked out how to push up and roll out of it and I'm a bit concerned that she will whack her head on the side of the cot!

So, do I fork out for the big version at an eye watering £140 plus a spare cover at £60 or should I just put cot bumpers in at a very slightly less painful £80?! Its a Leander cot bed so only the Leander bumpers will fit.

Interested to hear if anyone else has got a Sleepyhead Grand and what you think of it. Am thinking I could take it away with us like I did the small one although not sure if it will fit in the suitcase sleep is more important than clothes anyway?

Have you tried letting her sleep in the bug cot without the Sleephead (or cot bumper)? Some babies are not head-bumpers when they roll over, so you may be worrying for nothing.

My ds regularly bumped his head by rolling around at high speed, so we did have to get bumpers for the top end of the cot. It only lasted a few weeks though, then he learned to roll over more carefully.

Hmm, no and that does sound a sensible idea! DD1 was a terrible roller for ages and I didn't get a bumper because I kept thinking she'd grow out of it. In the end I just stuffed toys all round the cot!

Bumpers do also help keep the dummies in the cot too I find so less of that horrible hitting the floor sound…!

I've just bought sleepy head grand on nct shop for a lower price of £134!! Free delivery too on orders over £50. We're planning to use it for camping trip later this month as our obaby travel cot is too big for our tent.
