My dd3 was always a fab sleeper from very small she found her thumb so going to bed consisted of one verse of twinkle twinkle night night, thumb in the mouth and that was her until morning. This all changed a couple of months ago and although I know why she is having sleep issues I have no idea what to do about it.
A couple of months ago she started feeling very unwell no energy, losing weight rapidly and very bad Diaorrhea. After weeks of in and out to hospital and one hospital stay we finally got a diagnosis that she was coeliac. She is now on a strict gluten free diet and is getting better each day which is a relief, however her sleep is terrible. She seems to have lost her ability to self soothe so I have to stay with her until she falls alseep and I am then in and out to her all night to settle her back every time she wakes, she then wakes up around 5ish most mornings looking for breakfast. I am exhausted but just don't know how to move past this phase and get her back to her old routine which I so took for granted! I know the past few months have truamatised her and left her very clingy to me understandably but I am at a loss as to what to do about it. Because she has been so unwell I am not able to leave her cry she and me gets too distressed but I can't go on like this. It takes up to an hour to get her to sleep each evening and I have 2 other kids to get to bed as well. Within 2 hours she is awake again and I am back up there I am barely getting to do anything else in the evenings bar getting her to sleep and then a night of broken sleep.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar and can offer any advice?
