Feeling a bit sad about this

DD is 11 months but its only been the last month or so that she's spent any time at all sleeping in her cot. I now have her going into it for 3 hours at the start of the night, which is good progress for her!

Last night I'd been in to her once or twice already (she needs resettling by either shhhing, or walking and singing or sometimes a feed). The third time I went in (it was only about 10pm at this stage, she'd gone down at 6.30pm) she was standing at the side of the cot. When she saw me coming she lay back down. It's the first time she's done that and I'm reading it as "I'm tired Mummy, help me sleep". I'm feeling quite sad that she can't manage to make herself sleep when she really wants to.

I might be reading a bit too much into the workings of the mind of an 11 month old but how else should I read it.

In the end rubbing and singing didn't work and she was awake on and off till 12!
