Looking for sleep advice

I am very lucky that my DS 2.6 is a good sleeper. He generally sleeps roughly 7 till 7 and takes a long nap in the afternoon. As a newborn he used to stay downstairs with me in his moses basket until I went to bed at roughly 11pm but as he got older, I can't remember what age I startedto put him down earlier until I got this pattern. He also moved very easily to his cot.

I have a DS 7 months who has always refused a moses basket and has slept in with me. He doesn't like the cot and always wakes up 5 minutes after I put him down in it. He feeds to sleep. I'm not sure how to ger him to get go to sleep earlier and in his cot.

I know with my eldest that he would cry sometimes buy I would just keep going to settle him until he went to sleep. However i live in a new build property where yhe walls are paper thin. I'm loathed to let him cry for more than a couple of seconds so he doesn't wake my eldestup. I also had my DH here with my eldest but I'm now a single mum.

Also I kind of remember my eldest snoozing a bit downstairs with me now in his moses basket in the evenings before I went to bed whereas my youngest is awake all evening until he goes to bed with me.

Any advice would be great. I'm wondering whether as he gets more established with food this will make a difference. And also whether I should wait till the nights bget darker.

I'm not at my wits end yet. As my youngest isnt crying all night. Cluster feeds a bit but generally in good sorts but I feel like I should start getting him into a better routine before it is difficult to break.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
