DS was 8 months yesterday. He has slept pretty well from about 4 months, approx 7pm-6am and waking for just one feed. Last weekend he started waking every 2 hours but went back to sleep after a quick pat - this has gone on all week but coincided with his first 2 teeth arriving so I put it down to that.

However, the teeth are now through but last night was worse than ever! Woke every hour if not more, and much more difficult to settle. Had an extra feed, Calpol, etc etc all to no avail. Im on my own and exhausted, can anyone suggest why this might be happening and what I can do?

I can't offer any advice but it sounds like I'm in a similar situation to you. My DS is just 8 months and although hid sleep has never been great we'd got to a 7pm bedtime with 1 or 2 night feeds.

But the last week or so has been a battle at bedtime and constant wakings. Often every 45 mins after going to sleep, until he conks and then maybe one or 2 more wake ups in the early hours.

We've got the tip of his first tooth so think that is part of it for us too but I'm putting it down mainly to a massive development leap. In the last 2 weeks he's learnt to crawl, sit up from lying down and pull up to standing. Often he's sat up in his cot sobbing with his eyes shut, like he wants to be asleep but can't. I'm hoping it'll pass as the novelty of mobility passes!

Hopefully someone knowledgable with be along Prawn, but you are not alone. Hope tonight is better for you :)

Another one in the same position. DD is 8months on Wed and has two teeth. Sleep is rubbish and we're having trouble breaking the feed-to-sleep cycle.

Development leap. Check out wander weeks.

I'm losing the plot but hoping we'll get through this one soon (8.5 months)
