Controlled crying for 5am wake-up??

Does anyone have experience with cc for 5am wake-ups. My 9month old DS continues to wake for bf at 5am. Some mornings he'll go back to sleep but many times he won't. On these days both of us are soooooo knackered and it's a bad combination. I don't think he can be so hungry as to not be able to wait another hour to be fed (he's a very good eater by day, and not small for his age). I cannot continute to encourage him to bf at this hour since I will soon be going back to work. However, I'm skeptical that leaving him to cry will work. Need to know if there are success stories out there? P.S. The few times my DH has gone in or I've tried settling him without bf, he's just cried hysterically until we give in or morning comes (6am). HELP HELP HELP.

here you go

and i found another older thread here

good luck. i'm afraid to report that with ds (now 15mo) it hasn't made an awful lot of difference - he's just an early waker (today 5:27).
