Baby is fully bf. 5 months old. Sleep has gotten worse and im going Back to work soonish and need to improve things!! ATM its taking him a long time to go off at night. Normally only falls to sleep at 9 then wakes at 12, 3,5.Loves my bed, hates the cot. Has two naps in the day that can be upto an hour each. Moment he wakes up he screams. Apart from sleep he's happy and chirpy baby. Any tips please?????

How does he fall asleep at the start of the night?

What time does he wake up in the morning? 9pm is quite a late bedtime anyway (assuming he is up around 7am) and if he is only having two naps a day he might be overtired.

I know it concerns me its so late, it use to be 7pm. He generally only falls asleep whilst feeding.

Can you maybe try to get in a third catnap? You might need to go out in the pram / sling to get this if it's tricky. At that age maximum wake time should only be around 2 - 2.5 hours I think. Any longer and they get overtired and more unsettled at night.

You could also try to break the feed to sleep association, so he learns to self settle. If he is used to feeding to sleep the thinking is he will look to feed back to sleep every time he wakes in the night.

There are various methods you could use for this - have a search online. People have very polarised views on this and you have to do what you feel comfortable with.
