Just wondered what is average age of moving from 2 sleeps a day to 1. DS is 13 months and currently sleeps about 2.5 hours a day in 2 sleeps. not sure when to start trying to reduce this to 1. he usually sleeps about 11 hours a night though does wake early (but then he's in bed about 7 most nights)

Our DD was around 15 months and our DS around 12 months. DD occasionally still has 2 sleeps (maybe once every 10 days or so) - she's 19 months now and has 11-12 hours at night and 1-2 hours during day.

I think all mine were about 18months. I don't htink you should "try" to reduce it, it generally happens in it's own time. It is a tricky transition, though, and you may find he needs an earlier bedtime for a while after dropping a nap.

At 12 months. Sleeps for 2 to 3 hours at about 11:30. Bed by 6:30pm.

ds is nearly 15 months. He does about 12 hrs at night and if we are at home will usually do 2.5 hrs across 2 naps during the day. I sometimes curtail his morning nap if it is going on so long that there won't be time for a 2nd nap.
On days when he is at nursery he generally does 2x1/2hr naps but will then do 13 hrs at night! They tried moving him to 1 nap but by the time I picked him up, taken him straight home, dunked him in the bath, quick drink of milk and straight to bed he would be so overtired that he would wake after an hour or so and then take a couple of hours to re-settle as he was so wired and couldn't switch off. So we asked them to go back to 2 naps.

DD is 11.5 months and sometimes has one sleep, sometimes 2. Doesn'tseem to make any difference to night sleep.
