6 year old having problems falling asleep

Happy non-anxious 6 year DS is going to sleep late every night at the moment. I think it may be the light but he has obviously got it into his head that is it hard to do. Having put him to bed sometime between 7.30 and 8.30 he hasn't been sleeping until well after 9.00. He keeps asking me how to fall asleep

Any ideas apart from blackout blinds?

Have you got my DS?! he's the same, for the past two weeks, he's gone to bed at 7.30 but is still awake at 9.30/10. its driving me mad!!
I've got no idea what to do, so will be watching thread

My ds7 is like this too. Quite happy but still awake at 1030 when I came upstairs.

Another DS7 here with troubles getting to sleep. Went to bed yawning & rubbing his eyes at 8pm, still peeking round the door wide awake at 10pm....

Already gave blackout blinds - no difference in going to sleep but does sleep later in the mornings.

Someone else told me their blackouts had not made much difference. Maybe we just have to live with it for another month or so until the days get shorter.

I don't know what to advise him to do in the mean time though
