New born and sleep

Hi,

Although my DS is my second I seem to have forgotten everything! He is only 4 days old bless him and is sleeping all day apart from waking for feeds and then at night is pretty much awake wanting feeds/to sleep in me. I can't remember for the life of me if this is what happened with my DD.

How long do newborns sleep?

Thanks

Depends whether they are breast fed or formula fed. I think it's about 2-3 hours for breast fed and 3-4 hours for formula fed, but that varies between every baby. If you're struggling to get any sleep try feeding as much as possible during the day and try a bath and what not at night to see if he'll sleep longer.

Sorry that is 2-3 hours between feeds etc.
