Hi,

Ds is 4 weeks old. For the 1st 2 weeks at night he fed and went straight back to sleep but now hes feeding then once I put him down becomes v restless ie trying to suck his hands, waving them about, snorting etc. I cant sleep when hes doing this as hes so noisy. Ive tried giving the dummy but he spits it out. He has his eyes closed and isnt crying.

Should I pick him up and try and get him in a deeper sleep or should I just leave well alone and wait until he settles.
He seems to do this for hrs and I think he cant be getting decent sleep.

Thanks

I would leave him I think as it is important that they learn to settle on their own. Could you maybe move him into his own room if he is keeping you awake, just so you can get some rest?

They are resless at this stage as they do not have control of their arms and hands yet. Try swaddling him!
