3 month old sleeping on his side

My 3 month old son is constantly rolling onto his side in his sleep! It seems he can put himself to sleep but on his side! I roll him to his back but he goes back again. I am torn between being happy that he can self settle and terrified that he will suffocate. I can't watch him all night...I don't really have a question, just wanted to share a worry. Confused

I think the advice is that if he can roll himself around then he's ok to sleep however he sees fit.

DS2 did the same very early on. I was a little worried at first, but on balance I was pleased he was sleeping well. There wasn't any way to stop him - sleep positioners are also not recommended.

The arm that he would lie on seemed to stop him from rolling on his front (at least for a little while!).

Yes, just don't put him on his front. If/when he can turn himself onto his front he'll be ok, but you can't control how he sleeps.

Don't worry too much. In the olden days we used to put babies on their sides to sleep as a matter of course. DS is 26 now and always slept that way, he grew up perfectly ok (apart from being a Man U supporter!)
