6month nap schedule

Can you tell me what your 6 month olds currently do sleep wise during the day.

I am trying to aim for

  • a nap about 8.30ish for 40 minutes/1 hour
  • a nap after lunch about 12pm for about 1hour 30
  • a quick cat nap [if absolutely necessary about 3.30 for half an hour

We don't stick to a specific time but generally DD will nap after being awake 2-3 hours. So eg.
6am awake
8am nap for 1-2 hours
11/12/1 (depending on prev. wakeup time) nap for 1-2 hours. 2/3/4 a catnap of about 30 mins.
This schedule all goes wrong of course if out and about in the afternoon!

We tried a 2-3-4 nap schedule (so basically 2 naps a day where first awake period is only 2 hrs, then 3, then 4). I was amazed how well it worked! I was amazed she could stay awake the 4 hours! Before trying this I'd always assumed her first wake up period should be the longest. She quite quickly extended her first wake up period to 3 hours and now tends to nap at set times of the day (which I love!)

Up at 7ish
First nap starts 9-9.30. Lasts for 45-90 mins.
Second nap starts 12.30-1.15. Lasts for 45-90 mins.
Third nap-if two good naps earlier will have a catnap in the buggy/car. If earlier naps not great, will sleep for 45mins
Bed at around 7-7.30.

Thats interesting something that your dd was fine with a 4 hour awake stretch. Ds is starting to drop the third nap, but finishes his midday nap at 2.30, and am a bit nervous about him being awake that long.
