Hi. Just joined mumsnet because I'm at my wits end with my lo's sleeping. She's nearly 5 months old and will only sleep during the day if we go out in the buggie. I've tried putting her down in the moses basket and picking her up to settle her. However, after a few goes at this, she just carries on crying while I hold her. She's not sleeping well at night at the moment, which is making motivation to walk for miles in the rain a bit of an issue.
Any thoughts?

Will she nap on you? My DS is a great sleeper at night but will only nap on me or, as you say, in his buggy. Getting a bit tired of everyone saying I should just put him in his cot and leave him-he just cries!!! DS is also 5 months and I'm just going to work on the principle that he's still a bit little and try him again in a few days. Sorry!- I've been no help there at all, hope someone who knows what to do comes along.

Hi is she suffer

Hi is she suffering after the 4 month regression? We have a thread running in sleep, just a place to moan & support each other really. My ds would not nap anywhere other than car seat or bouncy chair til 6 months when I started putting him in cot asleep for 1st nap which at that point was 90 mins after waking. He seemed to be most receptive to sleep at 1st nap if the day. He started only sleeping 10 mins then 20 gradually increased to 60. If he woke, I'd try & shush/feed him back off, if not then up & try again tomorrow. Other naps were pushchair/car at the time (jab/feb urgh!)

At that age he could only stay awake 90 mins ish at a time so it was bloody hard work. It changed VERY quickly, over about 10 days, now he has 35 mins in cot am & 90 mins afternoon in pram in back garden which was unthinkable a month ago, not ideal but life's too short for cot dramas leaving both of us in tears every day ds still a shocker at night

Good luck Flowers

Thanks. Yes - I think we are having 4 month sleep issues, so I'll keep an eye on that thread. Good to know things change.
