What are everyone's 4-5month olds doing sleep pattern wise?

I want to be able to let DH know what other babies are doing :) DS is currently sleeping 8pm-5.45am with naps in the morning, sometimes at lunch and a longer one in the afternoon. Can't shift the 5.45 wake up, must be something to do with daylight, he was waking at 6.30 earlier in the year!

Most 4-5 month old don't sleep as well as your DS.
You are very lucky Smile

stealth boast? Wink

nannynome · 16/05/2014 08:58

Nah I know he is doing incredibly well, DH however is epically grumbling about 5.45am, hence wanting a reality check for him :)

My 4 month DD often gets up at around 4 am...your DH should stop grumbling! ;-)

keepitgoing · 16/05/2014 09:24

mine got up at 5 after having woken 4 times!... enjoy while it lasts.

BMack · 16/05/2014 09:50

My DD used to wake up about that time too, then I got a blackout blind from Dunelm and I've never looked back! She sleeps through 8pm to 8:30am now! I have to wake her up in the mornings! Would definitely recommend getting a blackout blind!

nannynome · 16/05/2014 13:05

Awesome, we are moving into new house next week, I will go blackout blind shopping :) thank you BMack!

Mine was doing 11 till 5/6 ish but that's gone to pot recently. Possibly because we tried to start a routine of going to bed at eight ish. Yesterday she didn't nap and then was so tired she was screaming at one point. Today I will be doing everything I can to make sure she naps!
DH has to get up at five sothatwasnot a problem and we already have blackout curtains as it helps us to sleep!

Black out blind here. Goes to sleep 6-7pm sleeps til 7am no wake ups. Hardly sleeps during the day though - prob 3 catnaps only.

Chocolateteabag · 17/05/2014 07:51

21 week Ds2 is currently doing 7-7 with 1-2 wake ups (sometimes at 10, always at 3)
But I say currently as it doesn't stay like that - waiting for him to realise I've left the room and to properly shout.

gibbly · 17/05/2014 16:54

Sorry to be slightly happy about it but I'm glad to see other people's DC at this age are still waking once or twice a night as when I mentioned my DD doing this to a health visitor (what do they know anyway!) she looked at me really strangely and said she should be sleeping through at this age!

PoppyAmex · 17/05/2014 17:20

Waking up once or twice?

I wish.

More like every 50ms.

DD didn't sleep through until she was 15 months and DS is going the same way.

BMack · 17/05/2014 21:40

I never realised how lucky I have been with my DD (she's my first) until I spoken to others whose children still don't sleep through the night! She's slept through since 5weeks! Sorry! I don't mean to rub it in!!!

MrsSpencerReid · 17/05/2014 21:47

Mine does 11-6 give or take an hour each way and providing he has a feed after 10. During the day he has a couple of long naps and usually has a good 2/3 hour nap after tea but needs cuddles for this so not an option to put him to bed early! He is ds2, and an angel compared to ds1 who didn't sleep through for longer than I care to remember Grin

MrsPatMustard · 18/05/2014 08:45

Anyone else smiling for the OP through gritted teeth? Got three hours sleep last night and want to cry with exhaustion.

nannynome · 18/05/2014 10:05

If it helps he changed plan last night :) I let his dad feed him when he woke randomly at 2.30 and when he couldn't figure how to settle him he woke me up to help. I ended up getting him settled after 30 mins bouncing in a Jumperoo and a singing session and then sat in bed from 3.30 with DH snoring on one side and DS snoring on the other whilst I watched tv as I was wide awake :( going to be a long day!! Little sod also peed all over me when changing him when he woke up whilst beaming at me lol

I weep with jealousy, op. Dc3 is up roughly every 2hours. Had sworn number 3 was gonna be different too....

NickyEds · 18/05/2014 22:02

My DS does 7-8pm till 6-7am with a dream feed whenever we go to bed. He' done this since 12 weeks with one weeks at 4 months where he was a bit unsettled. He naps every 2.5-3 hours in the day but his naps are usual only around 30 minutes long. I think he's a great sleeper- we didn't really do anything, just the luck of the draw!
