DS is usually a good sleeper now anyway, we'll not talk about the first year

Since 12m he has generally slept through and then had an hour nap at lunch.

Thursday he was tired a couple of hours after waking (he had been waking slightly earlier than normal for a couple of weeks) so let him have a sleep. He had over an hour them still went for his normal nap and had 2.5hrs and still went to bed fine on thurs night.
Friday he had his nap at normal time but again had longer than normal but went to bed fine.
Today he's had his nap, again longer than normal. Went to bed fine but is waking left right and centre crying.
I've given him calpol which settled him at 10 but he's woken twice since.
When I go in he just seems 'awake'

Has he just had too much sleep over the last few days and is now not tired? Should I shorten his nap time?
What do you mums do if DC are just awake in the night??

hi, I have a 16mth old too and going through something similar. Because it doesn't happen very often, If ds seems awake during the night and is generally unsettled, I usually get him up for a bit and have a cuddle and play. Then I'll try and give him some ibuprofen and milk after an hour or so.
My ds is just getting his front molars through now, which must be uncomfortable
