Right! 17 months old and still waking every 1-2 hours... Only settled again by breastfeeding and if left (even very briefly)to cry will spectacularly vomit. Have heard of short term use of sedatives (!) to break habit. Sounds horrifying, but am getting slightly desperate. Has anyone any experience of this?

Thank G mine doesn't vomit! I was an Au Pair at 18 for a French 2 year old that used to stick his fingers down his throat to vomit - some nights I was changing his cot 3 times. He used to laugh and point at sick. He grew out of it and had no sympathy from me as I was young and he wasn't mine. I look back now and think how awful was that - incidently he is now a lovely 18 year old himself and intelligent too so it had no long term damage! I tell u if there were sedatives available I'd be in the queue but I think its v unlikely a doc would suggest this.
