Baby feeding whilst I'm asleep?

We're currently co sleeping and I often feed DD whilst lying on my side. Is it safe for me to doze whilst she's feeding? I've seen lots of mumsnetters mentioning that they just latch baby on and then go back to sleep. Is this really safe? I panic whenever I fall asleep and she's got her head too near boob!

I used to worry about this too but when DD started waking up every 2 hours I gave up trying to stay awake whilst she was awake. I just made sure she couldn't roll out of bed, laid down on my side, latched her on and gradually drifted back to sleep. Often I'd wake up and find her either asleep, or latched on. Co-sleeping kept me sane!

It should be absolutely fine - just check the bed set up is safe enough (duvets, pillows, etc) and enjoy!

Mine used to just help herself during the night Grin. I can remember waking up one morning to find she'd latched on through my nightie!
