Naps with a toddler in tow

My 11 wo has become progressively worse with napping at home, now it will only happen on me as 1) he wakes up after 15 mins or 2) my over enthusiastic toddler of 2.5 wakes him up. He is starting to rely on the boob to settle for all sleep too. How do people get new babies to sleep whilst trying to entertain a toddler too? The two seem incompatible to me!

I lock and chain the front door, shut all stair gates, put cbeebies on and give DD2 (2.2) a biscuit while I take DD2 (3.5 months) up and attempt to settle her in her crib. Its the only place where she will nap for any decent length of time. If I can't, or am busy or can't be arsed I put DD2 in the sling where she will usually sleep for 40 minutes or so - not ideal but better than nothing.

She has a dummy so is reliant on this for sleep - not sure its any better than boob as a sleep association but at least it isn't attached to me!

Ds is 11 weeks old and bf. Dd is just 2.
I use white noise app on my phone. as soon ad he looks sleepy and starts to fall asleep on book i move him to moses basket and whack the white noise up. As he falls deeper asleep i turn it down a bit. I can usually get an hours nap out him this way whilst toddler runs riot

Marking place - first day at home alone tomorrow with 2.5 week old DS and 17 month old DD. I can see this being an issue in the future.

Dummy and also line the crib / cot with at shirt of yours they you have worn / slept in .. Worked a treat for me ... So much that a 5 week old was managing to almost move to find my scent .I was worried about smothering or it moving so I draped / tied it over the side like a bumper of the moses basket she got herself snuggled right up to it- And continued to do so ... Also when I was out dh used the t shirt over his shoulder to try to help settle..

I'd like to know too! Have a 2 1/2 yr old and 8 week old.

I'm holding out hope that when naps and timings are more established, baby can go in cot (for a bit of peace!)

Boob not book

Same as Charlie - cbeebies for DD1 and whatever gets DD2 asleep quickest - usually boob and sometimes sling at end of day when everyone's a bit fractious. DD2 is now 14 wks and I'm seeing no signs of a napping routine. Have others managed one with a toddler to also deal with?

Nope no sign of routine. Ds 12 weeks. Can't really follow his signs as got toddler in tow. Luckily i feel.okay with going with the flow. No choice really!
