2 yo DS dropping nap

DS is just two and can survive without his nap on some days. He's quite time sensitive, if he misses his nap window, there's no settling him, so we just power through. However when he misses his nap he then often wakes in the night and is pretty much impossible to settle. Last night he was awake on and off for two hours in the night and only settled back off again when he came into bed with us. He is such a good sleeper normally, this is very unusual for him. Will it settle down? Any bright ideas?!

Hi teacher
I'm kinda in the same boat ds is 2 and as always been a good sleeper until a cpl of mths when he was teething and he often wakes in night I go into him and pick him up and he goes straight back to sleep but aswel as this he is waking up at 5.30am, I have tried putting him bed later, told nursery to cut his nap to 1 hr and nothing makes a diff, he has always had food routine bath, milk and in bed for 7 pm he settles himself but has started getting out of bed and can take 2-3 times of putting him back and telling him it's time to go to sleep. He woke at 2 am this morning and then at 5am I went in and told him that it's not time to get up and put him back but then he just kicked off screaming kicking door lol, but I ignored him he has a gate on his door and his room is safe so I don't know what else to do I'm exhausted, after bout 45 mins he went back to sleep and has just got up now, if anyone has any advice it will be great, or do I stick it out with the ignoring, I'm at a loss. Xxx
