can we move 18mo into a toddler bed?

We think our 18mo hates her cot so can we move her into a toddler bed? With a sleeping bag? Is it 18mo too young for a bed without sides? Thanks

i moved my ds when he was about that age (needed thecot for dd) he was fine, we just got one of the toddlerbeds with the rails at the top and checked on him when we went to bed to make sure he was at the right end of the bed. he is now 25 months and has fell out once. we do have a baby gate on the bedroom door tho

Thanks tortoise, sounds like we might have the same bed! We were going to put the cot mattress on the floor in case she falls out.

Our DD went into a bed at 17 months - she hated her cot and slept much better on the bed. We put a mattress on the floor because she was such a wriggler and would roll out of bed - so make sure the toddler bed has a rail or something.
