Should I be concerned?
Always a pause after yawning before he breathes, frightens the crap out of me. X

Sounds like your baby has sleep apnea. Dh has it and it scares the crap out of me. Apparently it's hereditary! Oh no! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_apnea

My DD is 7 and she sometimes yawns in her sleep, especially when she's very tired. Not frequently but just once it twice on such a night. Never worried me, we just found it very unusual & sweet. She does not seem sleep deprived.

Should I be worried?

Is it dangerous? He's eight now and tends to do it most nights in the first bit of his sleep. He then sleeps heavily. X

DH has been doing it for all his life and is still around lol. He got it from his mother who has it. Apparently you can go to a sleep clinic. Tell your doctor about it. Don't say he has apnea. Just say what the symptoms are. Then if the doctor doesn't suggest it request about a sleep clinic. It will put your mind at rest. Also I am not qualified to diagnose over the web :-)

Thanks Clara, I just wondered what it was. Not sure my eight year will like a sleep clinic but luckily a friend of hubby's is a sleep doctor apparently so he's our first stop! X
