DS2 has never been a brilliant sleeper but we've done controlled crying and it helped although didnt completely solve the problem but he was ALOT better.

However, over the last couple of months we seem to have a problem with nappies exploding! I have tried different brands but all to no avail. DS2 wakes about 4/5 am crying and crying. When I go into him he is completely soaked through and the nappy has exploded and the gel is everywhere I have to change him and the bed and then he quite happily settles down. Over the last couple of weeks he has started waking between 12 and 2 am crying. I have left him or done CC and after about 1 - 1 1/2 hours he eventually goes off only to wake again at 4/5 am with the exploding nappy.

So, last week when he woke at his 12 - 2 am slot I went in straight away and changed his nappy. He immediately went back to sleep and slept through until 7 am. Hurrah I thought!

But ever since, every night the same thing has happened and now I dont know what to do. Do I get woken every night at 2 am to change him (he is now waking expecting this) and then get some sleep or do I suffer the exploding nappy!? Heeeeelllp!!!

He is 16 months. And I tried a cloth nappy from a friend and he was just soaked through at 2 am and I had to change him and the bed

Can you lessen his bedtime milk (bleeding obvious, so sure if you could, you would already have done this...!)

i had the same problem with exploding nappies and found that pampers were the worst but boots and tescos nappies havnt exploded on me but my ds also 16 months wakes up a couple of times a week soaked through but it does depend on how much milk he has befor bed sometimes it takes 2 and a half beakers of milk to get him off to sleep so i try to wait till hes really tyred untill i take him up to bed and then he only has 1 beaker of milk
hope that helps

DS3 was like this. I used disposable with a cloth wrap on top. Found fleece good, as well as waterproofs.
