Just spent over an hour trying to put my 12mo to sleep. We normally do pat and shush method, but after 50 mins of crying and calming and crying and calming, he was still going.

So I left him for 10 mins. It was horrible, but I didn't know what else to do. After 8 mins (I had a stopwatch!), it went quiet. I left him for another 2 mins, then went to check.

He was fast asleep, sitting up, & before I could move him, he fell forward, and bumped his head off the cot! Wee soul!

Amazingly, he didn't cry then. But I lifted him, checked he was okay, and popped him back down. I then semi-woke him, just to make sure he was okay, and off he went to sleep.

Wine, anybody?!

Earlier I propped my dd up on the sofa to show her Granny how she could stand up, got chatting, didn't keep an eye on her and she landed on her head
