Is there a solution to our sleep problem nightmare? If NO, I can accept that but if YES PLEASE share.

  • Baby is nearly 15 months old
- Still breastfed - Still in our room - Sibling is 8 years older and noisy so not a realistic solution to share a room - Baby wakes up every 2 or 3 hours atm - last night bed at 7, woke at 10 - took until 01:30 before she went back to sleep - Can't attempt any sort of sleep training which involves leaving her to cry (even if we are in the room with her) as have neighbour who shouts through walls.

Anything we can do? Drugs (seriously)? Just feel we cannot go on like this.

Anyone? Thanks

Well, we did it! . First night, to bed awake. Bit of crying, comforted, went to sleep. Woke about 4 ish?. Cried for about 1 hour plus. Partner was with her, cuddling, singing etc. I resolutely refused to go in. He came out after about an hour, saying, now what? Left her for a few minutes and...she stopped! And went to sleep. Apart from one night when she woke up talking to herself, she slept through every night on holiday until about 7 ish. .

So, we now know she can do it. Whether she will on return home is different matter but, oh, I have hope in my heart for the future.

How brilliant, Tinker. Well done to you and the bloke and to the wee one herself. So pleased for you. Really hope the transition back home works out too.

Great news, Tink - hope it does continue at home
