Hi,

Someone on another Phenergan Thread mentioned a fantastic medicine in the USA!
Does anyone know what this is called a please?

I'm desperate for a medicine/syrup to STOP my Daughters 9&5 from being poorly sick on the plane to America!

Any advice is great thank you

It's a sedative isn't it? I don't think you should give them it.

Phenergan is a Antihistamine and can be used to treat insomnia as well as allergies, not sure why it would be used to treat Travel sickness.

I think it's prescription only as well

You can buy phenergan for travel sickness and it works very well but does make them drowsy. Have you tried other travel sickness pills ?
Phenergan is hard to buy in the states as it can be used to increase the hit from codeine. I think that we can get mostly the same antihistamines but they are just called different things.

Avoid phenergan, it has a marked sedative effect on adults never mind children.

Thank you everyone for your help and advice.
It was the pharmacist who suggested to use Phenergan for my girls.
Now I'm all confused

I was prescribed phernegan for hyperemesis when pregnant so it is definitely used for antisickness, I found it very effective. However it did make me very drowsy though so couldn't take it very often. Saved it for DSs nursery days!!
It is prescribed for children, I remember seeing it on the dosage guidelines which I read numerous times, a quarter or half tablet depending on age IIRC
Fairly sure prescription only though

It is prescribed for children as my dsis has it for Insomnia, but I really wouldn't give it to a child without a Doctor's consent/prescription as it is very strong

My GP prescribed it for my DS1 for his insomnia. Be warned it had the opposite effect for the first hour and sent him wild and very energetic till he would finally yawn and drop down asleep. Plus it only lasted half the night so we still had the second half of the night with him awake!
