1 yr old never slept thru

Please help! I've really lost my way with where to go next. My 12 month old ds has never slept through - ever. He's my 4th child, others have been sleeping thru by 9 months, all bf, so don't know where I've gone wrong this time! We've done cc - worked/ improved things slightly til teething happened then regressed back to 4 wakes a night - needs to suckle each time to settle again. Co slept on the early days but that doesn't work now as if he's with me he insists on being latched on all night!

Any ideas?? Desperate for more than 2 hours sleep in one go...... Thanks!

Nope. My LO is 14 months now and still wakes. At the moment it's once a night and will only go back to sleep with a feed. Like having a new born again. My older 2 slept through from 5 months. This one is certainly a test

Mine didn't either at that age. He started at 14m. I think some just take their own sweet time about it.

We night weaned at 11m and dh went to do all wakings for a couple of weeks. Not fun but it did improve things, and gradually he just started sleeping longer and longer. Would your dh be up for that to break the suckling habit?

I'm afraid I think it's less to do with parenting and more to do with personality.

DD didn't sleep through until she was 2 (sorry!) DS1 was a better sleeper but had to take medication which interfered with his sleep patterns (sob!) and DS2 slept through from birth and is only unsettled when teething/ill.

My mum said my brother didn't have an unbroken night until he was 7! Not sure if that helps really though!
Personally I'd co sleep and let DS latch on all night just so I could sleep but you might not want to do that.

My DC2 slept through for the first time a week after he turned one. That was 3 weeks ago and he's slept 10 hours every night since. I don't get it, I tried everything and he suddenly just did it himself. Go figure!!
I know your pain, now I can't sleep through expecting him to wake up!
