Would you say this was a "good" sleep pattern for a 13 week old????

Goes to bed at 7pm
wakes approx 1.30am has feed and back to sleep
wakes 3.30 has feed and back to sleep
wakes 3.50 has feed and back to sleep to approx 7am

This is my 2nd baby (boy) and my 1st (girl) slept through at 6 wks - is this is a fairly ok sleep pattern cos it seems horrible to me!

It's better than my 14 month olds

trinityrhino · 06/08/2006 19:52

It's better than my 16 month olds

you were lucky with your girl IMO, very lucky, try and relax and go with the flow, this baby is obviously different

laundrylover · 06/08/2006 21:35

This pattern is very similar to DD2 since about 10 weeks (now 18) and I think it's FAB! DD1 was sooo much worse at this point. DD2 has even slept thru twice (once for 12 hours!!).
Think you were very lucky woth your first eh?

helsi · 06/08/2006 21:36

It's great compared to some children - think yourself lucky. (only I wpon't tell you the pattern of my 13 week old as you will hate me!!)

Mandymoo · 06/08/2006 21:42

Helsi - i demand that you tell me NOW!! i need something to strive for!

bed by 9pm awake at 8am (helsi now takes cover in fear of backlash!!)

imaginaryfriend · 06/08/2006 21:47

I'd say it's fairly typical but you might expect a bit of improvement in the next month or so. Can you cut the 3.50am feed seeing as it's only 20 mins after the 3.30am one? My dd was like your 1st, she slept a fairly long night at around 10 weeks old but most other kids I know don't do that, especially boys IME. Good luck!

Mandymoo · 06/08/2006 21:52

ooops just spotted typo in my OP

Its not 3.50am it should be 5.00am!!!!!

He feeds little and often in the day - tbh his feeds in the night really do seem like comfort feeds as he really doesn't feed for long and falls asleep almost immediately (as do i sometimes!)

Watch out IF you'll be in trouble with MN Towers! See red box....

imaginaryfriend · 06/08/2006 22:30

oops! I'd better report myself ... I'm sure that box wasn't there earlier this evening ...

PiccadillyCircus · 06/08/2006 22:31

I think the box only appeared earlier on this evening.

imaginaryfriend · 06/08/2006 22:33

I reported myself anyhow, so nobody else needs to bother! Sorry about that ...

laundrylover · 06/08/2006 22:36

No worries it's madness I tell you!

MatNanPlus · 06/08/2006 23:04

Would he settle with a cuddle Mandymoo?

Tho doesn't sound to bad.

The 8week old i am caring for has a feed at 8pm and then bed, then a EBM sleeping feed at 11pm and continues to sleep till 5-6am then a feed and back to sleep till 8-9am.

She had a similar pattern till we introduced the sleeping feed. She stays in her cot and sucks while asleep, so far working brilliantly.
