11 month old bad bed times, help please !!!!!!!

my ds 11 months is great at going for 2 naps a day without a fuss, but after bath, jammies bed he starts crying and wont go to sleep. his bed time is around 7 and we have never changed his routine. he is teething really badly as well. Just dont understand the constant crying for us when its bed time. it gets so bad that sometimes i get him up bring him downstairs (bad i know) and then put him back up again in his cot, which works as he goes out without a peep. thisis after ages of going in trying to settle him.
Is he just playing up, he does seem tired at 7 but shouls his bed timebe later or do i need a new routine?

Just bring him downstairs or give him a cuddle until he goes to sleep

His brain is changing and he is learning all the time - so his behaviour will be different

It really isn't bad to get him up and cuddle him In fact it's very good

What time does his last nap end? At 11 mo, DS would go to sleep 5 hours exactly from the end of his pm nap. Now, at 13 mo, it's 5 hours 20 mins. Might be worth tinkering with the end time of last nap before trying anything else.

That may be worth a try as it seems that this is also the case with DS.
His P.M nap usually ends at approx 3 - 3:30, so 5 hours would mean a bed time of 8pm (which is what it tends to be after the trying to settle, bringing downstairs etc etc)
The only problem with that is that by 6:30 - 7, DS is tired and EXTREMELY cranky and unsure if would make it to 8 without moaning anyway!!!

DD was in bed by 6:30 after a 3:30 wake up at that age, so I think it differs from child to child. I wouldn't be inclined to put him to bed later - I think it'll only worsen the problem as it's pretty likely that he is tired by 7.
It might be a bit of separation anxiety. DD went through this for a while at that age. I personally wouldn't bring him downstairs. If he really won't settle, comfort him in his room, lights on very low and as little talking as possible. He needs to know that when it's bedtime, time for playing and socialising is over. I think the stimulation of all the stuff going on downstairs will only wire him up even tighter.
