this is going to sound strange and im hopeing someone might be able to point me in the right direction
my ds 6 months old goes down well (most of the time anyway) but my problem is hes woken us in the middle of the night thrashing his arms a bit but wost is he can lift his body legs up to middle of his back and thrash it down to where we can here thecot banghe used to do it then stopped but now it has started again except harder we have gone over to the cot thinking hes woken up but hes fast asleep and doing it in his sleep im realy worried that the cot might hot be able to take much more as where he used to do it not and again hes now doing it every night and im worried he could cause himself some serios injury doing it
i hope you mumnetters can help me and thanks either way for looking at the problem

Not really sure what your question is but unless your cot was particularlu rickety to start with I would have thought it is fine and he won't do any damage to either himself or the cot at such a young age. They are made to withstand the antics of kids far older and heavier after all. You could always change mattress if you think it needs more shock absorbing ! Can he roll around as he might stop once he is more mobile and can resettle himself in a different position more easily.

Mummyto James - If it's the leg thrashing you're worried about there was a thread on that a wee while back. I'll try to find it..... you'll be surprised how common it is.

As others have said, the cot will be fine. Just wait until he's walking and wants out of it!!

its a qiuet a new cot three years old mil brought it for sil but she neveer used it so it was still in its box when we had it of her i think the reason i was panicking so much was with his thrashing around you can actualy hear the cot creak as if giving slightly and it always sounds as if its going to give compleatly so i guess i was just freakingout over nothing
he can turn over and stuff but hewont in his sleep he just stays on his back and does that
