Baby waking too early

Ds is nearly 9 months. He goes down fine on an evening, always after 7 and before 8.30. The problem is he is waking too early on a morning and not going back to sleep. This has being going on about two weeks.
Before then he was waking about half 5, 6 ish which I could deal with.
He has had a tooth come through at the top a couple of days ago and I'm assuming the other one will be through soon.
What can I do? Do you think it's a phase because of the teeth? Should I be getting him up this early?

Also I'm expecting another baby and I'm scared this will go on forever!

Congrats. How long until your due date?
I have a 11 month gap Grin

It may just be a phase because of tooth/teeth.
Is he wide awake? Wanting milk? Attention? Nappy change?
Is there noise? Light through window?
If its the pain waking him could you give him a cold teether when he wakes. Or apply gel?

Although it may be a phase you don't want to build a habit.
What else have you tried? Maybe then there maybe some other suggestions.

Also what are day time naps like

Alexchallex · 02/01/2014 07:05

Gave him calpol and bonjela this morning which settled him for about 10 minutes. Then he just screamed. Got him up and milked him and then he's happy to go crawling . Naps vary in the day but he has at least 3, usually under an hour. He has been known to have really big naps but I'm not sure I notice a difference at nighttime. I wonder if I should be more consistent with bed time but as his naps vary, his bedtime often does.
He woke at around 445 this morning and is still crawling around now so maybe this is going to be his natural waking time??
I'm not due til august I reckon. Pregnancy tiredness has yet to kick in...

Maybe drop the morning nap and no naps after 4.
Maybe structure his nap times more. So try put him down same time within a half hour. This will help when new baby comes!

He might be napping too much in the day?

My dd is just 9mo

She usually sleeps 7-6 although if unwell or teething or just having a bad day she wakes for milk once

In the day she usually has two naps 30-45 min each
I try and make sure she doesn't go to sleep after 4

I'm going through the same with my ds 9.5 month old and he doesn't nap for long either during the day! Help he just wants to crawl!
