DS is 12m, and grown out of his up to 18m sleeping bags. At what age can they start sleeping under quilts, and which ones are recommended?

I think that you can get bigger sleeping bags (tries to remember). I also can't remember when DS started to use a duvet (helpful). But it should be a 4 tog duvet only, as small children can't regulate their temperature very well and run the risk of over-heating.

Another issue when you start to use a duvet is that they might kick off the duvet, then shout for you because they're cold.

Thanks for the advice. Iv looked at bigger size sleeping bags, but at £30 a pop I was hoping to find something a little more long lasting. He's been under blankets the last couple of nights, after loosing his temper with his sleeping bag!!!

I think it's 2 years for pillows and duvets. Cellular blankets would be fine for the next year. Check out TK MAXX for sleeping bags at a lower price or pick up a bargain on eBay? The next size is 18-36 months.

Ds (20months) sleeps in a vest with a regular pair of Jammie's or a baby gro and one of those fleecy baby gros over the top. He does have a blanket but he doesn't need it as he's toastie!

My ds is 18 months. He's in the 18-36 month gro bags and has loads of space.
I found a few on eBay as they were too expensive to buy new. Think I paid about £17 for two including delivery

My DD is 13 months. She has had a pillow from 9 months and a duvet from 11. I am aware this is earlier than recommended, but it transformed her sleeping! Especially the pillow. She went from waking every couple of hours to sleeping through. She wriggles out of the duvet if she's too warm (though that doesn't happen too much as her room is cool). I got a cot bed duvet in dunelm mill for £14.99. I think it's 4 tog. I couldn't find a nice cover for it, so made one from a single cover.

duvets and pillows are ok from 1 year. we used 18-36 month sleeping bags for ds

DS (22 months) is under an Ikea special. I think we paid less than £20 for a duvet, pillow and covers for both. The pillow is a bit of a waste of time tbh because he just pushes it away. And he squiggles out from under the duvet and gets cold sometimes. But otherwise it's fine Smile

My ds2 is 14 months and he has a cotbed quilt - it was £12 from ikea. All four of mine have had quilts from 12 months and blankets before that as they couldn't stand being in a sleeping bag or swaddled as newborns.

As long as the quilt is the right size for the bed (so not a cotbed quilt in a cot) then he should be fine.
