Toddler bed

Any tips for getting a stubborn toddler (2.5) to stay in her cot bed?
We converted her cot into a bed 4 weeks ago and she still spends 2hrs plus every night after bedtime getting out and coming out of her room. We have tried various strategies, mostly putting her back in bed with no eye contact, talking etc but every night it just seems like we have to wait for her to tire out and it's not taking any less time as the nights go on. We have more or less dropped her daytime nap to try and make her more tired and stay in bed but it doesn't seem to make a difference. We have a gro clock which works for early wake ups but not at night. Any other strategies to try? Thanks in advance

We sat with ds until he slept. Was quick. Then gradually retreat once he settled down after a few weeks.

Did she take a long time to go to sleep before?

Was she in a gro bag? If she was in a gro bag in her cot, putting her back in one might make it more bother to get up and down.

Will she respond to some mild threats? DD2 is desperate to be a 'big girl', so when she kept getting up we told her we'd have to make her bed back into a cot if she couldn't stay in bed. Also promised that we had the monitor and would come if she stayed in bed and called if there was a problem.

We put a stair gate on the bedroom door for a few months and then removed it

I'd say 4 weeks of shenanigans might indicate she's not ready.
I'd put the sides back on and try again in a couple of months.
Good luck!
