Sleeping in my bed....

I have a 6 month old little girl, who up to now has been a fab sleeper at night. She sleeps in our room. For the last couple of weeks she has been a lot more difficult to settle at night and for the last couple of nights has only settled in my bed. Help! What do I do? I really don't want to get into bad habits....

Honestly with my 2 DC I would have slept on the stairs if it meant I got to sleep at all.

It isn't a 'bad habit' to let her sleep in the bed if it works for you and for her. Some countries the kids sleep in the parents bed right up until they are about school age!

One thing I was wary about once my kids were a bit more mobile - probably around +8 months - was that I worried they'd roll out of the bed, or shuffle out.

From my hazy memories of the 6 month age I do think I remember mine both going through a sleep regression.... In fact for DC2 it lasted for about 6 months Sad. Just do what you need to do for your own sanity and for you both to sleep.

There's some good co-sleeping tips on MN if you do a search for them.

Aw thank you. I don't feel quite so guilty. It's really difficult to know right from wrong sometimes.

Another one who put them in our bed here, it was the only way we could all get some sleep. Like needles says its normal and not a "bad habit", both of mine sleep beautifully now and ask to go to bed Smile

Her wakings could be a growth spurt or a developmental leap or she could have just decided she prefers it with you Smile

She jihad a perfect night last night in her cot. She has certainly grown last week. thank you, website just have to see if this was just good night.

She has been worse at my Mum's house. I suppose she is getting aware of her surroundings.
