Hi
Please help and advise. 1 year old is constantly getting one bug after the next (no infection according to docs) but every time we get through one thing another arrives. He's just got over a stomach bug and now is full of cough/sore throat and just shattered. Each time he eventually settles he starts coughing and wakes up then won't settle. Night times are horrendous, I do all the norm, Vicks, albas oil, raise cot mattress etc. Please someone help as I don't know how else to help him. Anyone know of steamers or vaporisers? I'm at the end of my tether now. tia xx

Hi CarlyRose [waves], i remember you from lots of other threads on this sleep board. I have a 12mo too. he has just started nursery and has had a cold pretty much consistently since mid October :(

I have also tried all the things you suggest - apart from raising the cot head, cos he crawls all round the cot at night and would end up sleeping head down Hmm.

A doctor told me that you should make the bathroom very steamy with a hot shower on and then take a couple of toys in there with them and play for 10 mins, a couple of times a day. The steam can help. Have you tried a dose of calpol at bedtime? When I had a hideous head cold which makes my face hurt, I would never go to bed without a lemsip, which is primarily paracetamol, same as calpol....might help? Seems to help our DS. We put adult olbas oil on a tissue under his cot on the floor so he definitely cant touch it.

Hi. It's endless isn't it? Ended up with an ear infection and bronchitis bless him. Antibiotics and he's better a week later now back to not sleeping through. Aghhhhh. It never stops. One thing causes something else to change. It's so hard. I just want him to sleep through again. How's your little one now?
