18mo dd is killing me one night waking/early morning at a time. She has never slept through the night (except for one time 9months ago in the days where 4am wake up was the norm).she's usually up 2-3times a night (a vast improvement from a month ago when she was up hourly or so!).between 12 and 2 she starts the killer waking-she takes over an hour to settle every night.she doesn't seem to need anything-has been night weaned since 9months,isn't thirsty, clean nappy etc.just thrashes around and insists on me being next to her until she drops back off.just as I climb back into bed,she wakes up again.etc etc.another issue is her 5am wake up-she is shattered yet refuses to go back to sleep!
Ok,this has turned into a much longer,ramblier,rantier post than anticipated!please,tips,hand holding,ANYTHING appreciated!

Its a long time since my babies were little but I would suggest sleep training. Since you have checked that she doesn't need anything and is comfortable then it is just that she wants you there and you are giving her what she wants. Maybe just go in each time and without saying anything just resettle her and walk out straight away. Maybe you could keep an eye on her from the doorway without her seeing when she is crying and see if she will "self soothe" and go back to sleep when she realises that you are not going to rush in all the time. Use the baby monitor too.
