DD is very refluxy and as yet undiagnosed ENT problems causing excessive mucus so not the best sleeper anyway, but the last few nights have been particularly bad with a cold compounding her existing issues. Now she cannot stop coughing and I wondered if anyone has any magic advice. She is absolutely knackered poor thing, and so are we.

We sleep apart taking the monitor for half the night each, I'm on the 1930 - 0130 watch and would love it if I could get my head down for just an hour of that time but it seems a distant hope at the moment....

Having a bowl with boiling water (safely of course) near the cot is good as the steam will help.

Propping up the head end of the cot with a couple of books under the mattress can really help too.

If its a chesty cough, Vicks is good (check the min age though as I can't remember it). I put it on the soles of their feet and then socks ontop.

Thank you, we have the plug in and it has helped. I tried steam once before and it made her vomit so haven't dared again! Cot is propped at about 45 degrees. Will try Vicks rub on feet next!
Thanks again :)
