How many naps does your 13mth old have and for how long?

My ds naps usually from 9am to 10.30 and 1.30 to 3pmish. Everyone I've spoken to says their 13mth old has stopped sleeping in the day or just has 40mins?? I'm not complaining at all but wondered if I need to brace myself for a change!!!

He goes to bed at 6pm and wakes at 7.30am.

DS sleeps for around two hours over 1-2 naps. DSS2 took a 1.5hr afternoon nap until he was nearly 3 as did DSS1.

I would say to you if it ain't broke don't fix it! If you're happy and DS is happy, sod what is "normal". Smile and nod, smile and nod.

My almost 1 yo has 1 nap 1-3(ish varies a bit) and we're working on the nighttime stuff.

Oops I completely misunderstood your post! I bet they're all different, I am seriously Envy. It was great when DS had morning and afternoon naps.

9.30 -11ish then 2 - 3.30, so similar to you.

Safyre · 02/12/2013 16:42

Normally about 90 minutes sometime between 10 and 2. It varies though, from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how tired he is. I suspect they are all different. Smile

We switched from what you are having OP, to 1 longer nap in the middle of the day, at around 13.5 months. It was great as it was becoming a real wrestle to get her down for the morning and afternoon naps, and she wasn't very tired at bed time. Now she conks out immediately at 11am and sleeps for a good blissful undisturbed 2 hours. And goes to bed brilliantly at 6.30/7pm. (Now if only she'd stay asleep….)

I have friends whose babies of this age don't nap or not much and I think they seem more tired and grumpy (which isn't a judgement AT ALL, getting babies to nap can be a nightmare!)

saysap · 03/12/2013 21:06

My 13 month sleeps from 9-10.30 am then 12.30-3pm.

Elfina · 03/12/2013 21:10

2 hours after lunch, but before she started nursery a couple of months ago we'd be lucky to get 30mins all day.

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/12/2013 15:13

DD (13m on mon) has been having two but the morning nap has got shorter and shorter and today I literally got her to sleep, made a cuppa tea and she was awake Hmm

She then completely conked out at half 11ish and slept til 1:10.

This has thrown me because I dont know if thats enough to see her through til bedtime.

I think shes ready for one nap now though.

neversleepagain · 05/12/2013 18:05

At 13 months they slept 9:30am-10am & 12:30-3pm. Bedtime 6pm-7:30am.

At 14 months they have dropped their morning sleep.

minipie · 05/12/2013 22:11

dd does either 9.30 till 10 and then 1.30 till 3

or 11 till 12.30 and then 4 till 4.30

she only sleeps 8 till 6.30 at night though - has never liked sleep much

it depends so much on personality
