How often/when does your 12mo nap?

I have always tried to follow DS1's cues for when he needs to nap, and he seems to settle into a nice routine for a few months and then it changes.

He currently wakes up at around 0630 every day, and seems to need to nap at around 1030am for 30-40 mins, and then another nap late afternoon around 3pm for an hour or so.

I think this afternoon nap is too late as it's stopping him going to sleep nice and easily at 7pm like he used to when both his morning and afternoon nap were earlier (more like 0930 and then 1330).

What does your 12mo do? Am I getting this wrong? Should I try and cut out the morning nap?? He is usually crying and tired by 1030am/11 at the latest, not sure I can get him through till after lunch :-(

mine has a short nap 9.15/9.30 and I wake her at 10. If she's not gone for a nap by 9.30 I might just allow her a quick snooze in the car on the way somewhere. I then put her down between 1 -1.30 and she wakes around 3pm. This means she is good for bedtime between 6.30-7. If I was in your position (which I am some days..) at the grizzly 11am time I offer her a snack, then lunch at 11.30 and down for a nap about 12.30. she wakes up a bit earlier than I would like, but I just do bedtime at 6.15 instead to make up for that. It's an awkward time for naps I think!

My 12 mo sleeps for 30mins at 9/9:30 then has a nap at 1ish for an hour or so.

Some days she only has 30mins in the afternoon..I dont like those days Grin

My 12 mo is up around 6 (though this is variable), goes down at 9 or 9.30 and sleeps 1.5-2 hours. Down again between 2 and 3, for 60-90 mins. Then bed at about 7.

My 12 mo is up at 8.00/8.30, naps at 11ish for 45 mins, then naps at 4ish for hour and a half. Bed at 8.30ish

My 12 1/2 mo wakes around 7:45am, takes a 2 hr nap at 12:45pm, and is asleep for the night at around 7:45pm.

She took several weeks to transition to one nap though. We gradually had to shorten the morning one to 30mins max, so that the 2nd nap didn't start too late, and was still nice and long. I didn't want her to fall out of the habit of a long afternoon nap.

Anyway, her first nap started later and later and when she was happy to go until 11am we started to skip it completely. We did a buggy walk or some quiet time instead, and an early lunch at 11:30.

At first she only slept for about 90 mins but after a couple of weeks 2 hrs became the norm.

My DS 13 months usually naps at 9/9.30, (I wake him after either 30/40 mins or 1.5hrs depending on our plans!) and then another nap 3 hours after waking (around 1.5-2 hours depending on morning nap). I make sure his nap total isn't usually over 2.5 hours a day. He's usually up around 6.30am and alseep around 6.30pm (not mentioning night wakings!).

My 13mth DS wakes at 6.30ish then nap about 10ish for 45-60mins. Then another 45-60mins at about 2ish. He only has one nap at nursery though. Think I'm going to try and get him to drop the morning one and have one longer nap in the middle of the day.

11mo naps 10-12 and 3-3.45.

At 12 mo DS was starting to be wakeful for longer in the morning, but on alternate days. So short (30-45 min) sleep in morning around 9:30. Awake by 10:00am regardless of length of nap. Afternoon sleep at 12:30. Awake by 2:30pm regardless of time he actually fell asleep. Now at 14 mo he still likes to close his eyes for a stealth snooze during 9:30ish BF but that's 20 min max. Still having same afternoon sleep, occasionally waking earlier or being still tired. Depends on activities of day/night before.

When DD was 12mo, she napped for 1 hour early afternoon.
