Stupid question I'm sure...

Why do babies wake up, have a cry for a few minutes then move position and go back to slsep? My ds who is 11 Months seems to do this for ages. Some nights he can start crying or whimpering / yelling every few minutes.
We cosleep and cos I'm single it's just me and him.

Supposedly everyone wakes up several times a night and then if they're able to they sort of drowsily go back to sleep. Sounds like your small person is doing that, just a bit noisily.,
