White noise

Is there any downside to using a white noise app or machine? Have a 4 week old and (fingers crossed) it seems to work

Only when you settle the baby with your whitenoise app but you forgot to put your phone on silent/aeroplane mode and it rings right in their ear.
Not that I ever did that.

My 1 yr old now has a fan on in her room at night, really helps calm her. And blocks the noise of her 6 yr old sister screeching that she Does Not Want to Go to Bed.

I 've been using a white noise ( app on ipad) for the first 8 months of my little one life , then I weaned her off without any trouble.

Ok. Sounds good.
About to put on the rain now and hoping for the best!

I bought a white noise machine off amazon so that I didn't need to keep using my phone, as I used it for my ds for all naps and overnight. Worked a dream especially in the early days. He's just turned one and we just stopped using it one day with no problems. Smile

Funny I've just ordered a Marpac for same reason.

I still use it at times when he's restless and he's 10 months now. He doesn't have it at night tho, goes off to lullabies on utube lol. If he wakes early I sometimes use it and more often then not for his morning nap at home to shut out the noise we all make. When he's at nursery he doesn't have it but it's generally noisy there anyway lol
